When in doubt....

So.... I've been on a mission for the past six months to find the perfect flat. One that doesn't come off the back of my heel, but doesn't leave blisters because it is so snug. One that wasn't seasonal, could work all year round and one that would hold up to me walking around campus all week without wreaking havoc on my feetsies. Oh and it needed to be under $50 (I'm a student on a budget...remember?!!?).

The whole reason the search for the perfect pair of flats has gone on this long is because I would either find a pair for a good price, but they wouldn't be very comfortable or sturdy, or they'd be comfortable and amazing and then I'd realize they were waay out of my price range (I will get my hands on those Tory Burch Reva flats one day!!!!). Friday rolls around and I go into Marshall's just trying to kill some time and what do I see out of the corner of my eye?!?! The last pair of these babies.....

These are the Vera Wang "Lillian" flats in Pewter. They retail for $195 but I got a great bargain on them.  I've been watching these shoes for the past month and they were originally $80. I was hesitant at first to buy them at that price because I knew they would eventually be marked down. Yes, I was taking a bit of a gamble but I guess I just got lucky. I got these little gems for $50. So far these flats embody everything I wanted. The buttery leather is soft, the color is neutral enough to go with any outfit, the leather is gathered along the edge but stretches when you slip on the shoe which provides a comfortable, snug fit. All in all I would say these were a great steal. I will try and get some outfit shots with me wearing them.

Morning Glory

So lately I've been getting ready early enough to relax a little and actually enjoy my coffee, catch up on blogs and check emails. I've scaled back my make up routine on the weekdays so now it only takes 15-20 minutes as opposed to 30-35 minutes (I know... crazy right?!?!) This morning was definitely one of those mornings where I was thankful to have a shorter routine. Bad storms rolled in last night and I was up most of the night so I got little sleep.

Below I've included (courtesy of Polyvore) all the products I use on a daily basis during the week. Just a few notes about some of the items:
- I've heard mixed reviews about the new Covergirl foundation but this has quickly become a favorite of mine
- A little trick I've used in the past when my blush has worn off a bit mid-day is using my lipstick as a cream blush. Assuming it's an appropriate color it always gives me a fresh, dewy look
- Lastly, the Smith's lip salve has been my favorite since I was a freshmen in highschool, and I'm now 22. Each tin lasts forever and leaves lips feeling so soft

Hope you've enjoyed this. I'd love to know what your go to products are for getting ready in a snap!!!

Spring is in the air

So it's officially Spring time, but it certainly does not feel like it around my area. Today it only got into the low 60's with a lot of wind. Brrrrr!!! So I thought to start Spring off on the right fashion foot I'd throw some inspirational Spring time pictures up here. A little fashion and beauty thrown together to reflect my current loves.

Blazers, flowy tops, a cute clutch or cross body, throw on some wedges or flats and BAM!! you've got yourself a classic, springy look. The makeup is something I would wear day or night: a neutral eye with some bright lips. If the bright lipstick is a little intimidating try applying it and then blotting with a tissue, this mutes the color and gives a pretty stained effect.
And the great thing about some of these pieces (blazers, flowy tops, and clutches) is that you can definitely find them at most thrift stores, but that's another post for another day.
